A pace bowling quartet of Gabriel, Nial Smith, Preston McSween, and Jayden Seales only produced 1 wicket is just crazy. All of these guys are good bowlers with different styles and not short of pace here at all.

Bonner completes his century....more to come.

The partnership for the 5th wicket with Raymon Reifer is now 52.

Team Blackwood 274/4

Shai Hope cracking a century in the game is a good sign...I checked the scorecard earlier in the day and he was on 39 off 120 odd deliveries. He's currently on 102 off 260 balls. Rakheem, batting with him at the other end is 19 off 65 balls, 14 of which came in boundaries.

What will really revitalise windies cricket will be winning back the frank worrell trophy at home in 2023. Aussies coming over for 3 tests.

think windies can do it if uncle Phil sets that as a target and works towards it. Warner probably gone by then and Smith getting on as well as hazel wood and starc.

That and the Wisden trophy at home is doable IMHO, with a bit of luck. Will be hugely reliant on our bowling though.

Would really need a couple of batsmen to be averaging 40+.

Smith will only be 34 by then as well.

So what do we think about the future of our T20 lineup? There's another World Cup next year and we are at a minimum losing Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Ravi Rampaul from the squad due to their age and Lendl Simmons due to how badly he has performed. So there's going to be a lot of opportunities for young players now, they need to take their chance. The first squad we will see selected for the Pakistan series will be announced soon and that will be interesting. Personally, I think our new lineup should look something like:

Evin Lewis
Opener (Brandon King, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Kenar Lewis)
Nicholas Pooran (wk, vc)
Right Hand bat who can bowl (Roston Chase, Rovman Powell)
Shimron Hetmeyer
Kieron Pollard (c)
Fabian Allen
All rounder (Andre Russell/Jason Holder/Carlos Braithwaite
Fast bowler (Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Oshane Thomas)
Spinner (Akehil Hossein, Gudakesh Motie, Hayden Walsh Jr)
Seamer with variations (Obed McCoy, Keemo Paul, Dominic Drakes)

I'm not convinced Chase is the answer to playing that Samuels type role but he should be given a few matches.

This T/20 World Cup was one tournament too far for some of those selected, but who knows a good CPL next year and the likes of Simmons and Rampaul might be retained knowing this selection panel.

I'm not convinced by Chase either, but we might as well give him a go. I agre with Pollard that we need a domestic T20 that feeds into CPL to give more young Caribbean players a chance.

This was as good an innings I've ever seen. Chasing 342 on the last day and Gordon made over 200 of them. Some incredible shots played in this knocks, most notably a hook shot off a medium pacer with only a cap on

What the actual hell is going on with West Indian batting? It is dreadful in every format, even world class odi players look lost at the moment. Really not sure how it has come to this and what we can do.

Something ridiculous like 30 overs of dot balls yesterday in that West Indies innings, and they didn't bat their full allocation either.

Until the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude of block, block, thump changes then performances will be much the same.

Team selection doesn't help either, Greaves is out of his depth and Thomas should be nowhere near that squad. King, Mayers and Ambris should have been considered instead.

Totally agree. But it's more than just the senior team, its at every level. The Under 19's have some talent but seemingly not much idea how to build an innings.
