Ricky Ponting:

102(112) vs West Indies in the '96 WC

World cup century as a 21 year old against Ambrose, Walsh and Bishop. Nuff said

145(158) vs Zimbabwe in '98

Equalled Dean Jones' at-the-time Australian record as a 23 yr old

69(110) vs South Africa in the '99 WC

A personal favourite. Overshadowed by Waugh's 120*, but he needed a partner and found in one Ponting. Pressure knock.

140*(121) vs India in the '03 WC Final

Clutch performance in a WC final

164(105) vs South Africa in '06

Forget the final result, this was still an amazing, landmark innings.

120 odd vs SL in the 2nd VB series final from 9 for 3 should be up there especially when Aust were 1 nil down in the finals.

Chanderpaul:

150 opening the batting with Gayle against SA. This was an ideal opening pair for us in ODIs. A shame it didn’t have any longevity.

a knock versus Daryll Tuffey, where he kept hitting balls to fine leg by a kind of ramp shot.

Six and four to end a game against SL. I think it was Vaas bowling the final over.

I’ll think of two more Chanderpaul innings.

His 154 in the 98/99 tri series was the Australian record at the time (came between Ponting and Junior) and cemented him as a star

122* v England in 2002 at the peak of his powers to win the game at Carisbrook
101 v England, first game of 96 World Cup
100* v SA, 1999 at Eden Park
95 v Australia, Adelaide in the epic 2002 VB Series
No doubt one of the other 13 tons he scored, that I can't particularly remember/didn't see.

He got 118* vs the West Indies in a match where he took an amazing outfield catch. Astle reached his 100 in the last over before hitting the last 3 balls of the 50th over for 3 6s.

Since @Bijed quite right pimped his best ODI innings in the other thread, lets do Woakes again:

#1: 95* vs Sri Lanka, Trent Bridge 2016
The score was 82/6 chasing a distant target of 287 to win when Woakes reached the crease. He put on a century stand with Jos Buttler and followed up with a half century stand for the 9th wicket with Liam Plunkett, salvaging a tie in the process.

#2: 68* vs West Indies, Antigua 2017
On a tricky pitch where England had earlier bowled the WIndies out for 225, Devendra Bishoo had reduced the tourists to 124/6. Woakes however made batting look easy and knocked off the remaining runs in unbroken partnership with Joe Root.

#3: 53* vs Australia, Sydney 2018
England were struggling to put up a competitive score batting first up against a full strength Aus attack. Woakes arrived during the 39th over with England 6 down and an unimposing 189 on the board. His 53*(36) powered England to 302 which would prove enough to defend.

#4: 42* vs Bangladesh, Adelaide 2015
A low point in England ODI history, this was the defeat that ended England's disastrous World Cup campaign and is mostly remembered for Peter Moore's infamous post match interview. Mostly forgotten amidst the wreckage was this pressure knock from Woakes, sadly not backed up by his teammates who collapsed to Rubel Hossain to leave him stranded.

#5: 78 vs Australia, Adelaide 2018
Hazelwood and Cummins ran riot in this day/nighter, Woakes top scoring with 78 from #8 as no other Englishman could pass 35. His efforts could only drag England to a lowly 196, but England almost defended it (Australia chased it 7 down) reinforcing how unfavourable the conditions were for batting.

I remember it well. Was the first time i truly appreciated his batting live.
It was superb. Asif and Gul were bowling unplayable spells while defending a biggish total. India lost 2 quick wickets and Dravid could manage only 22 at SR of 52. Tendulkar eschewed all his aggression to see off the new ball, didn't let plays and misses affect his game and still continued to score at close to run a ball by cleverly scoring boundaries at slightest opportunity. Whole chase was fairly tense until Dhoni went into the beast mode. Dhoni got MoM for his finishing act but I recall lot of people thinking that was a bad decision and Tendulkar clearly played the better knock.

75* vs Pakistan
115 vs Australia
104* vs Sri Lanka
56 vs England/85 v Australia

Useful bowler too, absolutely clutch performer, developing into a decent commentator.
