Why did Asian countries agree to ICC ODI rule change ?

Only 4 fielders outside 30 yards in between 11-40 and 2 new ball in ODI along with flat tracks have made spinners completely useless. Didn't these countries realise that they are going to be handicapped in future ?

because most countries think more runs = more money and india usually have a strong batting line up

two new balls did well initially if you like extreme cricket. in the 2015 world cup sides were punished heavily for not selecting wicket taking bowlers and making breakthroughs. no surprises the 4 best attacks waltzed into the semis.

2019 world cup was pretty balanced as well. maybe most odis being world cup practice now makes the rules irrelevant somewhat, because everyone gets a second chance.

ODI cricket has become an absolute joke in the last 4-5 years, primarily because of this rule change. (2 new balls)

Its like having 2 T20s fitted into one game. This makes it difficult to watch when you already have proper T20s that provide significantly MORE excitement. (rather than the dragged out double T20 which Odi cricket is now). ODI has been stripped of its identity.

With the bowl remaining so hard and with more fielders inside, batsmen can comfortably score 80-120 runs in any 10 over phase of the game! Its ridiculously unbalanced in favor of batsmen and power hitting. And spinners are redundant.

Its not a surprise that countries have considerably cut back on ODI cricket. Previously every nation was playing dozens of ODIs each yr and each series used to be minimum 5 games. Nowadays, countries are playing more T20s instead and ODIs series are often 3 matches long.

A tour used to comprise 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and usually just 1 T20

Now, it often has 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20s as well.

In another 10-20 years ODI cricket may become redundant the way it's going atm.

T20s were always gonna have a major impact on 50 over cricket

As soon as sides cracked 200 regularly in that first t20 WC, it made the idea of 275 being a competitive 50 over total seem archaic

But regularly hitting 350 in ODIs doesn't make 350 being a par score in tests archaic. ODIs are worse today due to the rotation policies, two new balls and absolute roads.

We should go back to red ball and whites for a change for ODIs. Can use the pink ball for day nighters. That would be interesting.

I agree with almost all of you. The two new balls in ODI along with
flat tracks have not only made spinners completely useless but also
has reduced the possibility of reverse swinging.

India didn't play a single spinner yesterday at home. Can't remember when it happened last time .
