Rauf in the test squad is a joke with only 7 wickets in 3 FC matches. Not surprised Naseem's gone too. I'm guessing 2 pace - 2 spin - Faheem is most likely? Feel a bit sorry Tabish, who will miss out again.

Yeah, that's a ridiculous selection. Didn't learn anything from the Naseem experiment apparently. He's probably even worse.

At least Naseem had done well in his limited FC cricket experience and was young. Rauf is 27 and is a T20 specialist.

I see Abdullah Shafiq has played a single FC match too.

If they have these guys just for the sake of having them around the coaching set-up then that's fine but I doubt that given Pakistani selectors have a weakness for wunderkinds. Haris Rauf is a terrible selection regardless.

I hope they're working on getting Abbas back to his best too. Didn't bowl terribly in NZ and England. Just a shame he's gone from being the best bowler in the world to getting dropped in the span of one shoulder injury. PCB staff is ****ed.

They debuted a spinner in the worst possible conditions for a spinner and then dropped him after one test.

See also: Imran Khan, Sohail Khan, Amir Yamin, Mir Hamza.

There's plenty of good cricketers around, just stop dropping them after 1 or 2 tests and stop picking noobs you ****ing morons.

I think Imran Butt will open the innings alongside Abid Ali.

Abdullah Shafiqe has no domestic experience. He has only played 1FC Match, 1 List A & 13 T20s.

If selectors wanted to pick a wonderkid as an opener, Haider Ali would have been a better choice.

Looking good. Looks younger than a lot of the current Pak side. Remember Wasim from back in the day. I was a big fan of Saeed Anwar and then Wasim and Wasti (?) started stinking up the joint.

I love that Imran Butt was picked partly because he is supposedly a gun slip fielder. Great attention to detail. Catches win matches, a safe pair of hands is always so underrated. Hope he plays and we get to see him take a few nice grabs.
