Butterworth really must have not come back from his injury very well if they're still insisting on picking Gulbis ahead of him.

Yeah, hear he's "gawn".
Yeah I haven't actually watched him bowl this season at all but I suspected the same. He's been really miserly but still not used much, which suggested to me that he was probably sending them down at quarter rat power. Lots of fast bowling depth in Tassie at the moment but I would've backed him to hold out a Gulbis challenge for the allrounder spot if he still had anything left so it looks like his days are numbered in general.

Yup, reckon Ian Holland will head down there and take a shot at that same spot at 8. Was stiff to not get more opportunities in Victoria, keeps on taking heaps of poles in grade cricket.

Cricinfo says he playing for them as an overseas player? Don't really know how that all works but I expect the rules to change soon anyway.

The rule that allows Handscomb to play as an overseas player in England but a domestic player here definitely won't change. The 'Robson rule' that would've allowed him to do the reverse theoretically will probably change back eventually though.

He's not thrown his lot in anyway; this is no different to Chanderpaul playing a bit a county cricket.

Yeah, exactly. Handscomb certainly hasn't decided to become English.

He might in the future when he realises there's no way past SuperNev though

Handscomb is only a pretend keeper anyway. I think he has a much bigger chance of making it as a specialist batsman, Nev or no Nev.
