Was a bastard finding this thread.

Kamrul Islam Rabbi into the Test team and ODI team when he starts going for less than 5.93 an over.
If you start updating this properly I'll do a Zimbabwean one. Although their season is half-over.

But cricinfo does it properly now!
Not really. You can't get round by round updates all neatly with notable performances etc. This thread is gun. Someone should do one of these threads for every single country's domestic season IMO. Cricinfo is a massive pain trying to follow domestic cricket with.

Not Terrible
Actually know very very little about the domestic teams themselves I just like to look through all the notable performances.

Chittagong didn't qualify for the 2nd Phase, if it was up to me I'd send him to China to get some Practice

Would love to keep this going, but pressures of time and work get in the way. I keep checking the scores though, Ashraful starting nicely. Seen this before though...

Pretty excited that a new Franchise based Four-Day Bangladesh Cricket League is about to get started tomorrow. National Cricket League (NCL) has just ended and the beginning of BCL now gives a positive sign that Board is thinking about longer version cricket as well. BCL is divided into Central, South, East and North Zone. The national selectors picked 80 top performers from the NCL from which the Franchises picked the players.

Mushfiqur Rahim will lead the North Zone and it has Junaid Siddique, Jahurul Islam, Naeem Islam, Farhad Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Saqlain Sajib among others.

Nafees Iqbal will lead the East Zone. Some others are Mominul Haque, Aftab Ahmed, Alok Kapali, Enamul Haque Jr.

Mahmudullah is going to lead the Central Zone (I'm supporting the Central Zone btw). Marshall Ayub is the one to watch out for from this side who's coming with a great form from the NCL with an average of 67.

Abdur Razzak is leading the South Zone which includes likes of Shohag Gazi and Ziaur Rahman.

I heard about this. Sounds like a good initiative. ATM 4-day cricket doesn't get much priority as the Dhaka leagues apparently pay more money. This is a step in the right direction. Will be following.

Sounds like they've taken a cue from India's Duleep Trophy

South's Ziaur Rahman is playing quite a knock against Central, wickets tumbling at the other end but he's batting on 152* with 15 Sixes currently

Apparently he ran out of partners and stranded on 152*

In the other match, Naeem continuing his domestic bullying and batting on 58* (141) against East Zone

The Test players all disappointing in SZ vs. CZ
Shahadat Hossain 12-0-68-2
Elias Sunny 14-1-76-1
Mahmudullah 13-0-64-0
Imrul Kayes 42 (64)
Anamul Haque 11 (20)

Ziaur beasted it out though, good stuff.

Jahurul scored 79 (144) opening the batting in the other game. Rahim 48 off 84. Naeem plodding along with Nasir. Abul Hasan bowling 12 wicketless overs for 52 runs on a day where the economy rate is 3.41

Baisya taking 3 wickets. Bowling well.

Haha, 15 sixes is insane. Nearly 90% of his runs have come in boundaries.

AZH/*****/Cribb/other Bangladeshi followers, happen to have a quick list of promising youngsters playing in the squads for these games?

Quite a few promising youngsters playing in Central Zone; Asif Ahmed, Nurul Hasan, Marshall Ayub

For South Zone, Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar

East Zone has Mominul, Kazi Kamrul

North Zone has quite a few Test players, Jahurul, Junaid, Naeem, Mushfiq, Nasir and looks strongest among teams

Disappointed that Taskin Ahmed is not playing. Maybe he's injured? But if not, he should have been playing imo rather than dead weights like Taposh, Talha

Any young quicks performing well?
Taskin Ahmed, Abu Jayed and Abu Haider from the under 19s are identified as future potentials but what's sad to see that they are not playing in this league. They took part in recently finished NCL though. Jayed already has 3 five fors with an avg of 22 in 18 FC matches and doing great in under 19s but in terms of raw potential, Taskin is probably ahead of the pack.

North Zone made a tactical blunder by not declaring early (499/6). They should have bowled at least few overs today. It will be tough to get any result in the coming two days.
