An All-Time Twenty20 XI

Flintoff at seven... have you seen his T20 batting record, it's pretty shocking atm... would replace him for Yuvraj, got enough death bowlers in the team, and could get four overs out of Watson, Roy etc, and then replace Haydos for Gayle and you got my team...
Is Yuvraj at 7 really the best option though? Albie Morkel could probably do the death-hitting role just as well I reckon.

Don Bradman
Viv Richards
Garry Sobers
Keith Miller
Kapil Dev
Jack Gregory
Shane Warne*

I don't understand the logic of including test greats in the ****tiest format of cricket, however entertaining that be. And I don't understand Trumper's and Sir Don's inclusion just on the basis that they scored fast in test cricket. Heck, we hardly know their SRs. If SR in tests was the only criteria, then Sehwag should be a shoo in in all T20 sides. Blindest of prejudices.

And yet you include Langeveldt who has hardly played any T20s and revelled in one match?
I've taken him because I believe he is the no.1 death bowler in world cricket (Remember a few years back when SA played the Windies - they need 2 runs to win, we need 3 wickets, 3 balls to go. Up steps Langes and gets a hattrick) But I've also seen him perform in the domestic T20, and he has bowled the last two overs from one side every single time and has gone for less than 6 runs in most because of his ability to bowl yorkers.

You said IPL is not real criteria right? Yet you say you included him because of his skills in domestic cricket. Be consistent please.

And secondly, I don't think he is even the best bowler at death from SA.

Frankly, though, it's difficult to make an all-time T20 XI, as the matches are so short and there are very few internationals played- barely one per tour. Consequently, some great players have very average (or less) statistics, while some surprises are thrown up if you look for good averages.

Please indicate where I said IPL is not real criteria.

Who, iyo, is better?

Very much agree with Arjun. It also hasn't been played long enough to make a proper XI, but its still fun.
