It's best for the team. Will be interesting to see he gets the job though. I reckon Watson would have to up there as a candidate.
Simpson wasn't completely terrible in the couple of games he had in charge. I don't remember how Hopes did.

He's a question. Apart from Watson (who is really a Queenslander) who was the last significant player to move interstate and resume their career with Queensland? We've lost a fair few like Magoffin, Mott and Hauritz.

Honestly can't think of anyone. I'm pretty sure at one stage either Maher or Love were being offered $$$ to move to NSW back in the early 00's, but yeah apart from Watto, I can't recall any big names moving from QLD.

Cannot believe Mahers captaincy either, he brings on Doran for another 3 over spell so he can get plastered for another 24 runs. Why you wouldn't bring on Watson or Hopes who have been able to keep the pressure on is beyond me.

God South Australia are sh*t. They wouldn't beat Afghanistan. Weren't they supposed to be the big improvers, both this season and last year too?

Dire.

Shane Jurgerson, not a big name though. Went to Tasmania and then came back for about a season and got injuried again. No one else rings any bells.

Jeez Tassie players and their big names...

Polkinghorne
Clingeleffer
Hilfenhaus
Kremerskothen
"Jurgerson"
From Kerry O'Keeffe's recent book:
He's striving away against Sean Clingeleffer and Butterworth. Traditionally Tasmanian players seem to utilise a great number of letters of the alphabet in their surnames; Clingeleffer, Kremerskothen and Polkinghorne are three that spring to mind. I don't know how Jamie Cox got in there. Just three letters in his surname. He might be Coxerscoffen or Coxaloffer but he managed to shorten it somehow.

All they need is a hyphenated name, really.

"Ronald" McDonald 4 wickets today; who would've thought?!

Maher was offered the NSW captaincy. Certainly would have got him a baggygreen.

Not that surprising. He is one of the more quiet achieving all-rounders in Domestic cricket and he's still relatively young. Had a great season in 06-07.

NSW vs WA should be a cracker, even though I don't get to watch it. Bird back into the squad which is interesting.

Heard a rumour the team will be -

Simon Katich (c)
Phil Hughes
Steve Smith
Dominic Thornely
Brad Haddin
Moises Henriques
Nathan Hauritz
Matthew Nicholson
Aaron Bird
Nathan Bracken
Doug Bollinger

which is so bowler-heavy it's ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure Greg Mail will play if he's fit. He made a century in one of the 2 games he's played so far. Definitely too bowler heavy. Where's Lambert too?
