Is it just me or Maurice Ouma have a hit-out or die trying approach to his batting? For some reason no one seems to stick in that no. 3 batting slot for Kenya there always seems to be somebody new every series
Obanda could solve that problem.

What the hell is Tony Suji doing back in the Kenyan side? Terrible cricketer, shouldn't be representing his country.

Kenya struggled at 28/2, chasing 167.

6.3 Jones to CO Obuya, OUT, full outside off and Obuya nicks that one and Leverock took the catch of the series I reckon ,one handed to his left at 1st slip
CO Obuya c Leverock b Jones 20 (24b 3x4 0x6) SR: 83.33

Lightning does strike twice!!!

Kenya could potentially have a really good middle order if Obanda, Tikolo and Mishra were all available to play together. I think Obanda should have done enough to keep the spot once he recovers.

I don't know why Suji continues to be selected. I do not wish to make accusations of nepotism, but there are times when one wonders. With Obanda injured, they would have done better to draft in a specialist batsman such as Ramesh Mepani.

Ravi Shah should be in the mix, do you know why he hasn't been playing? One of Kenya's best batsman in 2007 so it seems odd he was excluded. That middle order looks pretty good, especially with Thomas Odoyo at #6 or #7 who has been batting very well lately.

Shah came out of injury induced retirement for the World Cup. As far as I am aware (no official announcement has actually been made by him or CK) he has retired now from international cricket to concentrate on running his business. A shame as I think he would still have been a good opener and would have kept the stability at the top of the innings.

That is indeed a shame, as he looked a decent player.

He was but his knee injury really ended his career except for the comeback for the WCL and World Cup. Still at 35 he was only going to be around for a limited time and perhaps a chance for the next phase to come through.

There are one or two batsmen who've been piling in the runs in the Local leagues if they can step up then that would be great

The sooner the National league happens so the best players consistently play each other the better. It is the only way really that better players ore going to be consistently produced.

Tony Suji is average, but looking at a lot of the other players that have come into the side, i doubt there is many below the national side that is better. Also as soon as batsmen gets injuried Kamande or Odhiambo put up the order. This probably says something about the batsmen outside the 1st XI, if the want to develop these guys into all rounders. Not to mention the fact that David Obuya is dire and it doesn't matter how little runs he scores he keep getting selected. I seriously doubt there is anyone better to come into the side then Tony Suji.

Considering that He has been in the barional team set up for a considerable number of years sometimes under the guise of a bowler who bats a bit and sometimes as a batsmen who bowls a bit it can be argued he has been one the luckiers ones in international cricket but surely while he has had a long time to prove his worth their are specialist batsmen who have been selected probably on strong domestic form and then dropped from the squad without really getting the extended(Malhar Patelbeing an example) spell in the likes of David Obuya has enjoyed and considering the current situation with the batting resources in the current squad I think they should at least include one or to of these at least as cover

Despite his recent poor form, David Obuya is still Kenya's leading run scorer in ODIs for 2007. No sense in dropping him when a return to form may be just around the corner.

Regards Suji vs others, I think there are several who deserve a shot: Ramesh Mepani, David Maina, Malhar Patel possibly or if you are after an all rounder, why look any further than Amit Shukla?

Good to see Ongondo breaking into the top 20 of the ICC ODI rankings. Hopefully that will give incentive to other young players in Kenya and indeed the other Associate countries.
