The RTDAS will organise a parade through the city streets if that were to ever happen then advocate for the end of all ODIs, so the record will remain intact for all time.

Akram's record is very safe if pitches continue to be as batsman friendly as they have been recently. Murali will get close, but I don't see any other effective ODI wicket takers who would have the longevity of Akram.

I know why it hasn't been broken.

There is a thread on Pakpassion.net which is called Saeed 194 jinx thread, and whenever somebody starts to threaten the record that thread is re-opened and ppl start posting in it and very soon the batsman gets out. Its been happening for the past two years
