Matt Gidley also suffered a similar injury a year or 2 ago, he was out for a few weeks...

what is more surprising is he got it making a tackle, the fact he didnt miss the tackle is enough to make a bloke take a few weeks off through shock!
he really is a shocking defender, could u imagine having him and chris walker on the same side of the field in defence!

The alarming thing is every time he is picked in a NSW or Australian side his defence seems to be one of the things that gets mentioned.

Pick Matt Cooper!
He dosent quite have the ball skills of Gidley, but he's bigger , stronger , much faster and a way better defender.

cooper isnt a rep player IMO, he just has way too many mistakes in his game, ill take Gasnier, Tate, Berrigan, Tonga, Cross over him as australian centres anyday....

Not sure what you mean by mistakes as if you have a look at the stats he makes very few handling errors and his defence is rock-solid , barely ever misses a tackle.

Id have him behind Tate and Gasnier but not the others.

he makes plenty of mistakes in both attack and defence, he tackles well, but isnt the greatest at positioning himself and reading the play. He often gets caught out marking his inside man when he should be marking the outside, leaving a 2 on 1 for his winger.

He has improved his ball handling, but im not overly convinced he can cut it at state and international level yet...
