Of all the absurd money being thrown around in golf atm, the Player Impact Program has to be the most ludicrous

Tiger is a billionaire and he gets another $12 million for making product endorsements on his social media:laugh: when YouTubers are actually doing more to make the game more interesting

Er right, that's a $12m bonus. Nothing will ever top the $650m thrown at one golfer to turn up to 16 shotgun events a year!!

A reminder that Bryson all of a sudden has a little more time on his hands to create these videos, stuff that DPWT were doing anyway.

Reminder that Bryson is actually good (unlike anyone on DPWT these days) and has a personality (unlike the semi retired Tiger & Rory)

A reminder that the likes of McIlroy, Aberg, Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick, Lowry, Hojgaard etc will all play on the DPWT this year......and that certain LIV members (Casey, Reed) will be requesting to do so too.

A reminder that most will demand appearance fees to turn up as mismanagement has turned a once great Tour into a feeder tour for the PGAT

You're talking like this is all something new. The likes of McIlroy, McDowell, Poulter, Donald etc (and you can go back to Faldo) all moved to the US many moons ago. But it was only the top dogs who could get in. The PGA Tour has always been bigger, but it is now no longer a closed shop to European golfers. The DPWT may seem weaker, but the quality of golfers coming through would suggest not (Pavon a great example). And you can guarantee thy will still get massively bigger crowds than LIV.

Perhaps a bigger concern now is that many top Europeans are being swallowed up by the Collegiate system, and never even start on DPWT (Rahm and Aberg for example).

I see Rahm was once again spouting the growing the game nonsense this week about going to Australia. He forgets that both McIlroy and Spieth have won there in the past. The main issue is that it's just a **** of a long way to go for a tournament for the majority of golfers. And why is he going there? Because he's being paid to of course!!

Yeah Rahm was talking absolute bollocks

Cam Smith made far more sense

Said that there’s far too much pro golf in the US & that LIV should focus upon markets like Australia & Spain (apparently Valderama was a big success)

The Valderrama crowd was tiny compaed to the DPWT equivalent event that was held there. But all relative I guess compared to the non-existent numbers elsewhere.

But again with Smith, the countries listed are largely ones that DPWT goes to anyway. The line about the S Africans pretty daft given there's at least 4 tournaments there on DP.

It's just a load of rubbish trying to justify the stupid amounts of money they got paid to join LIV. The only thing they cared about growing was their pockets, if not, they'd have attended various existing tournaments anyway.

DPWT is a basket case & just about the only decent players who go to SA are from LIV anyway

Not sure it was just growing their pockets, I think the fact they could do it while also doing less work, playing fewer tournaments and being on the road way less was a big pull for a lot of the guys, especially the ones with young families.

It’s also ironic when you consider the massive cash grab taking place on the PGAT

I'm not even sure that adds up. The top guys will play 16 Liv plus 4 Majors. The SA guys all entered their home events whilst others like Reed or Casey have been sniffing around getting sponsors invites to DPWT. Most of them are looking for extra tournaments to play in.

The old guys took one last payout.
The S American guys went for the money.
Talor Gooch went for the money (and boy has he whinged since).
DJ doesn't much enjoy playing golf so grabbed the extra money.
Koepka thought his knee was eternally ****ed so grabbed the money.
Rahm and Smith clearly went for the money.

Any of them who say it wasn't for the money are liars.

Bizarre when people claim that a professional doesn’t enjoy doing what they do

Rory looks miserable on the course these days so he obviously doesn’t like golf anymore

Is it? Koepka has said as much in the past, DJ the same, and what of Kyrgios in tennis or O'Sullivan snooker? There are countless examples of sportsmen who don't necessarily enjoy the sports they play, they just happened to be talented at it and it pays well.

And frankly, that could sum up a lot of careers. We've all taken jobs that can earn us more money, what we've not then done is lied about why we took them and at the same time tried to influence what was going on at our previous employer.
