The MMA/UFC Thread

I think it's actually worse now as people are being caught and let off, others are not even being tested and others still are being set up by dodgy promoters

At least the earlier eras were a complete free for all

Dont get me wrong, it was still wrong but at least it was an even playing field of sorts
Yeah this is true.

The testing in boxing is miles off the USADA implementation that the UFC has forked out for recently, and even then we still get these weird exemptions and inconsistencies in the UFC.

I honestly think Hunt should try to sue the UFC for the purse.

Brock Lesnar: Teammate Believes The Beast’s Asthma Inhaler Made Him Fail UFC Drug Test

UFC and WWE giant Brock Lesnar is innocent of doping, according to an alleged teammate! The Beast reportedly has severe asthma, and taking his inhaler is allegedly what made him fail the drug test! Click through for details!

“Brock [Lesnar] suffers from whats called RAD, otherwise known as Reactive airway disease,” one of Brock’s alleged teammates, who only identified himself as D2, wrote on an online forum. “His doctor for years has prescribed him Advair Diskus (an inhaler), which helps him breathe during the late spring and summer months here in Minnesota when he has episodes. This drug is classified as Beta-2 Agonists. So this is why he got popped by USADA.”

“It’s really just a formality though, because he should of been give a TUE just like people do who have ADHD and take Adderall that fight in the UFC, or other pain killers for injuries,” D2 continued. “He passed the other 7 tests and was not using any GH or Anabolic agents of any kind which everyone is assuming.”

Wow! This is incredibly unfair to Brock if true. Asthma is a serious medical condition, and he needs to take his inhaler to live. Advair is a medicine that includes the steroid Fluticasone, which isn’t the same as the kind of steroid that people sometimes use to bulk up. The UFC announced on July 15 that Brock had been tested five times leading up to UFC 200, and his June 28 came back with some kind of banned substance.

D2 says that the weather in Minnesota, where they were training together, was particularly harsh; Brock was allegedly hyperventilating to the point where he was using his inhaler all the time. Could that really be what flagged his drug test?

The news that Brock had potentially failed his drug test surprised no one more than his opponent, Mark Hunt, who battled him in the octagon on July 10. Their fight happened after the drug test, and Mark was livid that his major loss happened to someone who may have doped. He threatened to quit the UFC if he didn’t get paid half of Brock’s $2.5 million purse!
This is the rumour going around ATM.

Conor vs Nate this weekened. So excited. Hope we see a great fight, and really want Conor to pick up the W. Sounds like he's had a tremendous training camp, the most scientific and organised camp possibly in MMA history. Lets see if it pays off.

From what I've heard he's still got that Ido Portal scam artist running around with him so it's not sounding good...

I like Conor. I hope he's doing some proper training with boxing coaches teaching him how to defend and not get hit in the head with every jab. It would make for a much better fight.

For the first time ever, Conor has flown in specific training partners for this fight. He has a 6ft southpaw pro boxer that he's been sparring rounds with and has been doing regular rounds with bigger opponents. Conor knows Nate's going to show so is preparing specifically for Diaz. He's also being much more disciplined with his nutrition and will not be coming in off a week of heavy meals. This is the most prepared Conor has ever been for an opponent, so if he loses this time, then Nate is just the better man. Either way it's going to be a tremendous fight.

 That press conference was incredible. Conor showed up late, then as soon as he got there Nate got up and left. Both Diaz brothers started shouting **** at Conor as they were leaving, then either Nate or Nick started throwing bottles at Conor and his team. Conor then fought back by throwing monster cans and bottles of water across the conference at them. Absolutely nuts. This fight is going to be insane!
