Knicks apparently gonna give Joe Johnson 6 years at max money, risky stuff.

Anyone reckon Big Nate will land a gig next season? reckon he needs to shed 10 kilos and have a big summer league.

Will be interesting to see how Cousins goes next year and over his career.

He is super long (his knuckles nearly drag on the ground), put up great numbers in College and people have been hot on him for a while.

On the other side, we all know about his supposed immaturity but Im not sure enough is being made of his lack of athleticism. Having long arms certainly helps but he is combined one of the worst jumpers, slowest runners and fattest players in the last 10 years of the draft. He doesnt have the abilty to compete up at and around the rim in the NBA and that will hurt him.

So many red flags.
At the 5th spot he's a dream pick imo. He has a ridiculously complete package for a big man and is a true centre. He boards at a ferocious pace, plays great on both offensive and defensive posts, has great feet and finishing ability around the rim(disagree with your point there from what I've seen and his stats back up his production and scoring efficiency is off the charts). Also very underrated as a passer and is very unselfish when he sees a teamate in abetter position.

Think most of his issues were character ones especially his seemingly low impulse control on and off court but with a guy who can do everything he can do and with truly skilled and multi dimensional bigs more or less non existent in the NBA, even if he doesn't work out for them now he'll always have a big trade value for other teams. Thought it was a safe pick for the 5 spot. No one else even close to his talent level on the board at that time and that's coming from a Georgetown fans who loves Monroe.

Also just shaking my head at seeing both Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay picking up max contracts. Horrible now and will cripple both teams later. Hope to be there when both FO's realise they overpaid for them and then also realise how untradeable and franchise limiting they will be. Regarding Lebron, this Nets situation really intrigues me. Apparently if they get him they'll flip a move to get Humphries out of town and then do a S&T for Bosh tempting Toronto with Favors and Harris. Really want to see how this goes down.

Great to see Phil Jackson return for one more year too. Would be fitting if he made the Finals at least to finish his career off.

edit: Now the Bucks giving Gooden 32 million, Darko getting 20 million Minnesota and them signing Nikola Pekovic from Panathinaikos for 30 million or so(great player). A lot of panic moneuy being thrown around.

I dont disagree with any of that. At 5 you can possibly gamble on a player with high talent and this pick has a lot of value. I still think it will be interesting to see how he goes for all his good attributes (ie production at the college level, length and skills package) and the weaknesses (lack of athleticism and poor attitude.) He could go on and have a very good NBA career or he really could struggle at replicate at the next level.

Amare playing for D'Antoni again isn't a bad thing at all, in fact it's a great fit even next to David Lee. Problem with offering hima max deal he has serious knee issues and even worse he has ridiculous problems with one of is eyes and if he re-injures either then insurance won't save them from his contract.

Just jumped onto the Nets bandwagon though. Prokhorov is the don of the NBA right now, he's like Mark Cuban except with $30 billion more. Plus he's a complete badass. People should get their laughs in right now at the Nets, once they move to Brooklyn expect them to start hanging some banners around the arena.

Quietly hoping that if LBJ signs elsewhere, it's at the Nets. May not mean championships right now, but have always had a soft spot for the Nets, and as you say there is a lot to like about where they're headed in 3/4/5 years.

Want Lebron to go to the Knicks now, and Wade+Bosh go Bulls. Makes the East very very interesting. Knicks/Celts/Magic/Bulls/A-Town all capable of coming out of the East.

Also, Shaq to A-Town?

Bibby (ew), JJ, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Shaq.

Al and J-Smoove are athletic enough to maybe cover Shaq's inability to run and hence let him just bang. Not getting them close to a ring though.

Although Amare isn't worth 100 million especially with the condition of his body and the lack of defence he was the only way the Knicks get a ticket to the Lebron and Wade dance.

Douglas
Lebron
Chandler
Gallinari
Amare

Is huge, fast, athletic, skillful and powerhouse. They'd need to round out their roster with high IQ role players though, and moving Eddy Curry's contract without having draft picks means they'd have to give up Will or Gallo but that's bonerific wrt the potential of what you can do, especially in a D'Antoni system. Maybe sign a Luke Ridnour or someone for cheap and use Douglas off the bench as a shooter and it's a sick starting five.

**** the Knicks.

That said, Wade and Bosh would be pretty cool, as with LeBron we'd still seriously lack a consistent outside shooter.
