Hard not to come off as some bitter old "back in my day.." asshole when saying things like this because everyone should know that basketball back in the day, especially in the early-mid 2000s was often really turgid. But the pendulum's swung too hard in the other direction and the idea that some fans push saying it's all because of the evolution of player skill is clearly rubbish. One of the biggest problems imo is the ultra generous continuation fouls for and-ones that players ( especially guards) get now.
