Your going back to '94. for the last non-qualification, that's an awful long time ago. We did qualify in '92, rather wish we hadn't, tbh. Holland haven't qualified for a number of Euros and WCs, and they've many better players then us.

As hinted above, I think any team with Graham Taylor managing, did incredibly well to win any games at all. Still can't believe Waddle was discarded, whilst the likes of Sinton, Thomas, Palmer, Dorigo, (oh I could go on and on, tbh) played.

Particularly enjoyed him taking off our top-scoring striker of all time, when we desperately needed a goal in '92.

The All Blacks easily. Aside from 1999, South Africa had no right to win any one day competition they subsequently or previously got knocked out of.

The favourites aren't the only ones that can choke though.

Who have SA lost to, or been knocked out by, in recent World Cups which were better than them? From my memory, only Australia in this year's WC, and the reason they are called chokers in that is because of the pitiful way they batted. They were totally sucked in to Australia's pre-match talk.

IIRC the Spanish football team have only ever won one European Championship, which is rididculous given the talent at their disposal over the years.

For me the biggest chocker in world sport are not even listed. The Spanish football team as mentioned already, superbly talented but just flop on the world stage to sides they should defeat.

The Indian cricket team to a level also, all those ODI-series finals that they have lost..

English Cricket cannot be classed as "chokers"...the simple reason being,....a choker team is a top team that can't quite make it at the top level,unfortunately,England are NOT a top team,therefore cannot be accused of choking.
