Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Green
PDV Dome

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

All the efforts of Cricket Web Green came to nothing, failing to successfully chase a target of 285 against Cricket Web Blue. Performances came from the usual contributors, Nick Scott and Ben Read half centuries.

After Sean Fuller beat Scott with a slower ball, bowling him for 89, the innings began to unravel quickly. Though Andrew Garven, returning to the team, played intelligently in a cameo of 35, the Blues fought their way on top in the middle overs. The key to the chase remained with Read, but from his position at number three he managed to get as far as 62 not out, while the Greens fell short by 21 runs.

The Greens started the game well, losing the toss, but taking two early wickets. Bryce Cunningham took 2 wickets with the new ball, spearheading the attack as CW Blue struggled to 85-4. Much like Jamee Gray at CW Red, Thamba Mamesh continued to find his feet in one-day cricket. He chose the perfect time to do so, reaching 71 before chipping Cunningham to the deep. His was the secondary innings of recovery, behind 94 from Pete Young in the middle order. But overshadowing both batsmen for pure entertainment value was a memorable knock by Alex Crampton - 49 off 38 balls - that propelled the Blues to a winning total of 284-6.

Cricket Web Blue innings 284-6 (50 overs)
PE Young 94 (110), T Mamesh 71 (86), AJ Crampton 49* (38)
BC Cunningham 3-63 (10)

Cricket Web Green innings 263-6 (50 overs)
NG Scott 89 (113), BS Read 62* (94), AJ Garven 35 (33)
G Sriram 2-73 (10)

Cricket Web Blue won by 21 runs.
Man of the Match: PE Young (Blue)

Cricket Web Black v Masters XI
Pickford Reserve

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

The Masters XI continued their fragile form in one-day cricket, overpowered completely by Cricket Web Black in Pickford. For the fifth time this season Ash Chaulk raced to a OD century, leading a brilliant CW Black effort toward 291-8.

Chaulk scored 118 off 110 balls, launching into the attack with 12 fours and a six. None of the middle order found such permanence at the crease, and though the Masters bowlers improved, the Blacks still got to a large total with ease. Quickly into their innings, the Masters were shot out of the game. First Kexing Su dashed out the top order in his opening burst, then the support bowlers strangled the batsmen to nick out wickets at regularly intervals. Tyron Henderson improved the score a bit with 38 not out, but the Blacks got home by a clear 103 runs.

Cricket Web Black innings 291-8 (50 overs)
AP Chaulk 118 (110), AP Cloete 33 (35), ZE Gelman 32 (33)
WW Hinds 2-22 (5)

Masters XI innings 188 (48.1 overs)
DR Martyn 42 (74), T Henderson 38* (59), DM Benkenstein 23 (38)
Kexing Su 3-31 (10), KJ Gough 3-34 (9.1)

Cricket Web Black won by 103 runs.
Man of the Match: AP Chaulk (Black)

Cricket Web Colts v Cricket Web Red
Fardin Qayyumi CC

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

There were few problems for Cricket Web Red in beating Cricket Web Colts by 6 wickets for a sixth consecutive win. First David Kennett snared 4 wickets in bowler-friendly conditions, then Jamee Gray and Kenny Dobson reeled off some exquisite strokes to win comfortably.

Runs were never hard to come by, but the Colts lost regular wickets to the swinging ball against some good bowling by CW Red. The topscorer in the innings, Griffen was bowled by Kennett noball on 6, before advancing to 83 not out. The opener batted well out of position, coming in at six and putting on 117 with Mike Wilson. Wilson followed up his maiden one-day hundred with a solid half-century and surprisingly was the anchor of a Colts revival.

CW Colts surrendered for 219-7, a target that a struggling bowling attack claimed no confidence to defend. Thad Bochat was again the pick, taking care of Luff (10) with a clever slower ball in a spell of 1-34. But after the initial loss the Reds found life easy at the crease, riding high on confidence and form. Though Gray (58) solidly laid the foundation of the chase, Dobson peppered the offside field in an innings of 64 off 69 balls, unbeaten when Sean Bennett scored the winning 2 runs.

Cricket Web Colts innings 219-7 (50 overs)
J Griffen 83* (95), MW Wilson 63 (119)
DM Kennett 4-42 (10)

Cricket Web Red innings 220-4 (44.3 overs)
GKK Dobson 64* (69), JR Gray 58 (90), RJ Dauth 38 (53)
TV Weber 2-51 (10)

Cricket Web Red won by 6 wickets.
Man of the Match: GKK Dobson (Red)

Nice couple of OD wins there, but a pretty poor showing to say the least in the second dig of yesterday's FC game. Odd how I seem to be on fire in the shorter form, and struggling to buy a run in the long game as well.

2-73?

Woah, nearly lost the game for the team there. Guess it's expected, my economy rate as first change in the ODIs isn't exactly very stingy.

Showing slight signs of improvement, but a lot of room for better performances. Could've been a lot more competetive if we had gone at a quicker rate when batting.

Great OD win, we're really starting to find some form now. Hate my OD stats for this season, shocking.
