Worth noting that I think 25/57 of the players who weren't in international teams are in their first season, I think. Rookies doing well is to be expected when you take that into account.

There's a difference between doing well and dominating.

The rookies aren't dominating Marc. A few are doing well. Why don't switch your bitterness toward the likes of Timewell and Hoy. They're dominating. But wait, they aren't rookies, so it wouldn't be convenient would it. 8-)

We've got the top 10 run scorers and wicket takers there.

How many of those aren't rookies?

You've even got some appearing in both lists.

That's more than just "doing well"

After further investigation, I've found that marc has stuff to back him up - I had no idea that some of those players were rookies and it seems as though 9/10 of the top 10 run scorers to date are indeed all players on their first year... we'll have to think about it instead of just complaining, though, and come up with something that rewards players for hanging around at the same time as encouraging new players to join and still have a chance at getting a start.

How many rookies bat in the top order in ODs? Look at Red even and you'll see the rookie representation in the top order. Once again, probability would dictate that rookies would dominate the top performers tables.

Whos this Loc guy?? Is his average 50??
No, his average has been adjusted just as everyone else. He's the same guy who averages 13.11 in FC with a fair few ducks and who has 32 runs in his 3 innings aside from 3 consecutive hundreds.

Well 5 of top 6 Blacks in their batting order are typically rookies.
Same stat for Blue.
For Red it's 4 of 6.
For Green it's far from the same stat, but Green has significantly less rookies than the other teams.
That's about 15 of the top 24 batsmen, as far as chances to bat, are rookies.

Bowling, 4 of the 6 most used Black bowlers have tended to be rookies.
About 3/4 of the 6 Blues.
2/6 for Red.
2/6 for Green.
11 of 24 bowlers.

I don't feel I should justify some rookies performing as I don't see why all rookies should fail miserably or be mediocre. I agree that signups are very extraordinary, but they have been adjusted sufficiently. I can name the majority of rookies as performing level with the standard or below it.

Nobody says they should all be failing or anything, but they certainly should not be dominating to this extent - it makes players who signed a while ago wonder what the point is.
