Well done to U19s, they put up a good show. A fair bit of talent in that squad, by the looks of things.
A brillant performance by all the guys in the 1st Test. Over the moon with my return to the Test side, can't believe that happened. But I think most of credit for that win has to go to bowlers. To take 20 wickets on that pitch against that batting line up was something special. Especially when they were lead by the two newer guys in the side in Collins and Borcich. It is great to see all these guys coming from FC and playing well straight away in Test cricket.

Inspired Pathan derailed by Dauth and Wilson
Day 1 - Cricket Web XI vs India - 2nd Test @ CW Oval
The CW Oval was primed for fast bowlers and the home side, but after Neil Pickup elected to take first strike, it was the bowling of Pathan that stole the spotlight. The left-armer prospered on the helpful pitch, and after a quick start by Cricket Web XI, India stormed back into contention in the afternoon session. First Test hero, Thamba Mamesh struck 4 boundaries on his way to 35 from 32 balls, but missed a full delivery by Pathan at 51-1. Pete Young strode confidently to the middle and continued his fantastic form with a composed half-century.
CW XI reached 145-1 and entered the 49th over, but Pathan exhibited the height of his powers with two excellent inswingers. First he trapped Mork lbw for 40, then rattled the offstump of Andrew Cloete two balls later. The star batsman pushed lazily forward and was comprehensively beaten, bowled for a duck. Pathan's double strike kicked Zaheer Khan into action, and the left-armer procured similar movement to account for the remains of the middle order. At 178-5, Rob Dauth and Mike Wilson were the last recognized pair at the crease.

Charged with that responsibility, they started shakily against the spin of Kumble. Wilson survived a confident lbw shout before he had scored, then Dauth offered an easy return chance to the Indian captain. He dropped it and duly surrendered the momentum to the Webheads for the remainder of the day. After his early struggle, Wilson hardly put a foot out of place in a rollicking march to a 55-ball half-century. The partnership cruised past 100, then at 102 it was ended by the persistent Pathan. Having already struck 7 boundaries, Wilson looked to pull the ball for another, but instead lobbed a simple catch to the mid-on fielder. He left Dauth to approach stumps with the help of Nick Borcich, and the CW Red batsman brought up a cool fifty with his efforts.

India snapped up the overnight batsmen quickly on the second morning, but were met with surprisingly stubborn resistance from the Cricket Web XI tail. When Rob Dauth was beaten by Pathan - the seam bowler's 5th wicket - the score was 294-8 and India looked odds on to limit the damage to little more than 300. But CW XI captain Neil Pickup was in no mood to surrender meekly.
Pickup edged Zaheer Khan to slip when he had 6, but the ball somehow eluded the usually safe hands of Rahul Dravid. It was the inspiration he needed to showcase his improved batting, and with Adam Collins he added 36. Collins eventually perished to Kumble for 22, but Pickup batted on with an even less likely partner - Travis Demeza. Both batsmen gave chances in the few overs left until lunch. Dhoni dropped a straightforward chance off Pickup, then Dravid dropped Demeza. India seemed to be conspiring against themselves and continued into the afternoon session, ultimately enduring a stand of 35 before Demeza padded up to Tendulkar. He left his captain unbeaten on a Test best of 39.

The CW XI score of 365 looked far more impressive than previously anticipated, and the home side followed up with some exceptional pace bowling to improve that advantage. Crucially, Sehwag picked out Borcich in the deep in the opening over, and Demeza should have had Jaffer if not for the slippery fingers of Collins. All seemed fine for India at tea - 50 for 1 - but after Jaffer was dropped again, Demeza took matters into his own hands and beat him for pace to remove him for 33. A couple of balls on, Mike Wilson got Rahul Dravid and India continued their dramatic slump to 127-5.
The best of the bowlers made his impression late. Fast bowler Nick Borcich, still finding his feet in Tests, produced a couple of stunning deliveries to dismiss the celebrated pair of Tendulkar and Ganguly. A sharp riser dealt for Tendulkar, fending to third slip, then a pacy yorker left Ganguly off balance and on the ground, mourning the loss of his middle stump. But typically defiant, MS Dhoni slammed the next ball down the ground for 3 runs, and India met stumps still in trouble, on 132-5. With him was VVS Laxman, looking revitalized with a flowing 30.

Borcich breaks through then CW XI build big lead
Day 3 - Cricket Web XI vs India - 2nd Test @ CW Oval
The form of the Cricket Web XI top order continued to shine brightest, as the hosts worked their way into the dominant position on day three. At the end of the day they led by 297 runs with 9 wickets intact. In the morning India fought back well behind a half-century from MS Dhoni, but the lively bowling of Nick Borcich helped secure a sizeable first innings lead for CW XI.
Nick Borcich was in top form.
Borcich took his fir$st 5-wicket haul, accounting for VVS Laxman for 49, and later wrapping up the tail. He shared 9 wickets with Travis Demeza, further stating the friendliness of the pitch. And already leading by 111, CW XI stomed out of the blocks against the new ball. Pathan was not the force of the first innings, and in 4 expensive overs, Mamesh hit him out of the attack. The opening batsman continued his personal resurgence by reach fifty from 39 balls, but got carried away and lofted a low full toss from Anil Kumble to Sreesanth at long-off. Tea was taken immediately after, and India reconsidered their tactics with the score on 92-1.
But the final session offered no more joy for the tourists. Mork gained reward for his patience with another half-century, then Pete Young clipped Sreesanth past midwicket for a boundary and a third consecutive Test fifty. There was little time for anything more dramatic. Just 4 balls later, play was called.

Both Mork and Cloete were out before lunch, and India started the afternoon with the wickets of Chris Butler (13) and Rob Dauth (5) with the old ball. The Indians continued to refuse a second new ball and chipped away at the middle order.
Young scored a single to reach 100, having faced 233 balls. And after Borcich was caught at slip, Adam Collins was a worthy partner in the press to a lead of 500. For the second time in the match, the Cricket Web Blue medium pacer stuck in at the crease and registered a composed 33. He flashed a wide ball from Pathan over backward point and raised the 500 lead, then Neil Pickup declared on 390-7. Young raised his bat to warm applause as he walked off the field, with 128 to his name.

India were set to face 17 overs before stumps, and managed to lose the wicket of Wasim Jaffer (23) to a fiery Borcich. He got a thin edge through to the wicketkeeper and was replaced by Irfan Pathan, playing the role of the nightwatchman. But even given their dominance, CW XI let themselves down with sloppy fielding. Borcich found the edge of Pathan's bat, but Mork could not cling on to the simple chance. He celebrated the let-off with a couple of thumping offdrives against Borcich, and Pathan batted to 16 not out at stumps.
India then set themselves the task of batting out day five on a crumbling pitch, with 9 wickets remaining and 439 still needed for an unlikely victory.
