That would conceivably make some players specialists in every position!

Like "Proven failure" - "Specialist" has a distinct meaning which you can't change just because you want to.

And just because you misinterpreted what I said - whether deliberately or accidentally - it doesn't mean I said it.

So let's see some players who've played with success in wildly differing positions.
Just because you might wish to interpret "proven failure" and "specialist" in one way doesn't mean that is the only way.
