Nah, Yasir is supposed to be one of their strike bowlers. He simply refuses to slow his pace down. Even Lyon is better at getting the batmen playing forward, and he's not great at it.

No spinner is ever expected to be a strike bowler in Australia. What he's failed at is provide any sort of steady control and not get completely smashed.

Yasir has been releasing the pressure more than the Shaheen and Abbas. They'd be within rights to blame him. You simply can't rock up in Australia and bowl filth and expect wickets.

Eh. All overseas spinners no matter what aren't going to run through the opposition in Australia. It's not happened in like 30 years. But lots have managed to keep the runs down and give the pacers some rest. That's definitely their primary role and what he has failed royally at.

He really needs someone to get Warner out. He’s averaging over 200 against Warner in Australia alone. You’d think a bloke who can get Smith out 7 times would do reasonably against Australia if someone could remove Warner for him.
