The "What a catch" Richie Benaud Memorial Medal.

Best outfield catch : Adam Bacher to end one of the great innings by Tendulkar at Newlands and one of the best partnerships

Also to the Kiwi fans. I seem to remember a Jonty Rhodes catch in New Zealand where he kept back-heeling and turning and dived backwards and fully horizontal to the ground with his face in the dark night sky and took it. It was the series where Cullinan took poor Vettori to the cleaners I think.

Jonty took 2-3 outrageously good ones in a single game and got MotM for it. The one at 2:20 is especially ridiculous.

0:23 in this one. I mean, realistically it's not the best catch ever but I do like it

Also, whilst it's not an amazing catch in itself, I found this one whilst looking for the above, which I hadn't seen before.

Apparently, for all his faults, Geraint Jones was very good at taking catches when the ball bounces off someone else first.

Sticking your hand out to pouch it mid-air when you've seen the ball coming for a few seconds can be easier than the leading edge taking you unawares. The first has an element of catching form about it, where once in a while everything seemingly hits flush in the center of the mitt; the second has not an insignificant amount of luck attached. The toughest to me have always been low and in front of you (mostly in the slips...I'm sure Brian McMillan, Mark Waugh/Taylor, etc. caught a few of those in their time), or the ones where you have to run in the other direction as the ball threatens to overtake you. Kapil's catch in the 83 final to get Viv is a good example.

Great catch, but I think the Strauss/Jones catch to get rid of Warne is undeniably better. So I might just accept that one only if you're cool with that Bijed.

Jonty Rhodes's standard was so far ahead of his time it was ridiculous.

I vaguely remember one where he jumped, parried the ball up goal-keeper style, got up off the ground and managed to take it. Blew my mind.
