The Tasmanian batting lineup does certainly look stronger, but I would probably take Faulkner over Rainbird or Fekete on bowling alone.

remember when Faulkner's main attribute in cricket was being one of the best Shield opening bowlers in Australia?
All the Limited-overs cricket has either ruined him, or ruined the perception of him as a player. Maybe both.

He averaged low-20s for several years in a row IIRC. Was also a no. 8 batsman barely averaging above 20.

2011/12 --> 39 wkts @ 25 (bat avge 24)
2012/13 --> 39 wkts @ 20 (bat avge 34)
after that he hardly played due to ODI commitments. You could argue that Bellerive greentops played a part in his figures, but doesn't change the trend.
He's gone from one of the best red-ball bowlers in the country to not even making Tasmania's side (who are probably the weakest of all states and have played 4 quicks). It's a shocking decline.

I mean, at the same time Adam Maher had a season or two like that. I think most of us on here at the time didn't rate Forkers Faulkner that much with the ball. (He should still be in the team for this match)
