Name a countries current best XI for all 3 formats using 33 unique players

    The scenario
The country you decide to use is playing a Test ODI and T20 series all at the same time so you are required.to select 3 XI's consisting of 33 unique players. Each country is playing 3 matches in each format where you'd get 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw/tie and 0 for a loss and no player, no matter how injury prone they are is in risk of being injured. If someone is currently injured you can select them and you can pick anyone who is basically available for selection.

    Who makes your teams?
    Athlai and indiaholic like this.
Daniel Brettig: "Siddle is the vital glue for a bowling attack that needs experience and consistency to balance the talent of Hazlewood, Starc, James Pattinson and Pat Cummins. Hopefully Lehmann and company will now remember this"

Beat me to starting this thread

Cook, Compton, Bell, Root, Ballance, Bairstow, Stokes, Rashid, Broad, Wood, Anderson

Hales, Moeen, Vince, Taylor, Morgan, Buttler, Bopara, Willey, Plunkett, Tredwell, Finn

Roy, Wright, Lumb, Pietersen, Billings, Ansari/Shah, Patel, Woakes, Mills, Parry, Topley

Pretty close to sacrificing the T20 side there

If we needed 33 players we'd probably start picking some more Ireland players though

With that point system it is best to pick a strong test team so that you at least get the 1 point for the draw.

    7 Ronchi
    8 Bracewell 3
    9 NcCullum 5
    10 Milne 1

one day NZ will bring chappell to his knees in a puddle of his own tears and you'll see Phlegm on his belly greedily tasting every delicious tear before watching the hope fade from that old ****s eyes.
Overrated XI M Bracewell, Burns, Rahane, Don Voges, Bairstow, Alecz Day, Donovan Grobelaar, Luke Ronchi, Faulkner, Dan Christian, Permaul

    Test ODI T20
David Warner Usman Khawaja Aaron Finch (c)
Ed Cowan Nic Maddinson Ben Dunk+
Steve Smith (c) Callum Ferguson Shaun Marsh
Adam Voges George Bailey (c) Chris Lynn
Joe Burns Glenn Maxwell Peter Handscomb
Marcus Stoinis James Faulkner Moises Henriques
Peter Nevill Matthew Wade Mitch Marsh
James Pattinson Mitchell Starc Gurinder Sandhu
Peter Siddle Patrick Cummins Kane Richardson
Josh Hazlewood Nathan Coulter-Nile Jason Behrendorff
Nathan Lyon Jon Holland Doug Bollinger

My initial thoughts. I feel like Abbott needs to be there somewhere and the T20 is lacking spin options unless captain Arun Finch rolls his arm over. Klinger is unlucky, no room for Watto.

edited mine, stupidly forgot Hazelwood and Bailey, and added NCN instead of Tait.

edit: and edited again, forgot Finch.

Warner back to the test side from the T20 side (in place of Bancroft) and Finch to open in the T20s

"This is a clash of strategy. And of methods, culture and politics. This is a new-era rivalry. Not as ancient as the Ashes, or as passionate as India-Pakistan. Two countries that are so different, yet share rampant egotism, high self-opinion and a belief that being born in their country is superior to other births. This brings together a belligerent bunch of brats, bullies and braggers." - Jarrod Kimber
