Does anyone else think it's really weird that Australia is ranked #1 in Tests and T20's, but only #5 in ODI's?

We have specialist Test players and specialist T20 players to get us to #1, maybe we need to find some ODI specialists?

For T20 internationals it's especially true, teams rarely play their best sides except in T20 world cups and we haven't had one for four and a half years now.

Not really they were minnow-level in ODIs for the year post sandpaper, and even for the few years before that kept putting out pretty ordinary teams. Stephen is correct about that. Daemon is also correct that the T20 rankings are pointless. Basing team rankings on a game or 2 here and there every 6 months is going to be quite variable, not to mention the crapshoot that T20 matches are in general.

Purely talking about Australia, but I think they might actually rest first-string players from ODIs more than they do for T20Is lately.

Even sticking to post-WW2, that's a shorter gap than we had for the World Cup last year; far shorter than the gap in 1970 when E v SA was cancelled, or the gap in 1971-2 when there were no Tests between August 24th and February 16th.

Tons of great sportsmen have done and continue to do that though.

I don't think it's that they're not receptive of criticism, it's that you probably have to develop some sort of a defense mechanism to the constant barrage of it that comes your way or you'll just get sucked in and break down mentally.

Deadset reckon I could play CPL, and I in no way rate myself as a cricketer. Christ it looks woeful
