At long last, McCullum finds (and clears) the rope for the first time. It's been a struggle today. Hope it breaks the shackles a bit.

First cricket from New Zealand I've watched in a long while, always the most comforting of comentary, makes for a lovely change of tone, Chanel 9 far too brash for this hour.

Anyone else noticed how when they measure out the boundaries, our boundaries really aren't much shorter than the Aussie boundaries (despite all the talk about it), and when they measure out the 6s, our 6s seem to generally be bigger than the ones hit in Aussie? Something funny going on there?

For example, there's been talk about how short the straight boundaries are at Eden Park now, yet supposedly they're about the same as straight boundaries at the MCG and Gabba.

Another lovely shot from McCullum. Best innings he's played for a while.
