1st over

Franklin will start with the ball, and both openers get off the mark straight away with singles. Franklin's fourth ball is a no ball that Heads also pushes past mid off for one, and his sixth is a terrible leg stump half volley that Dharan pings away to the boundary. Eight from it.

2nd over

McSkimming will share the new ball, but Dharan is looking just too good today. He late cuts two beautiful fours through third man, nine from that over.

3rd over

Heads bludgeons a full toss through midwicket for four, but the rest are dots.

4th over

That's much better from McSkimming. Dharan takes a two but is beaten on the next ball, and there are no more runs from the over.

5th over

Heads is watchful over Franklin's first four balls, before picking his target ball for a drive down the ground for four.

6th over

Dharan plays a dead straight drive for four off McSkimming, that's a classy shot. The pair take two singles, but between the two Heads has a wild swing and a miss - he wants to get this over with.

7th over

Heads has gone, and it's Franklin who breaks through as the left-hander edges to first slip, having made 12 off 20. Two singles from the over as Ballich gets off the mark.

8th over

Just one run from McSkimming's over as Dharan plays and misses one. They need to be sensible here.

9th over

Well, any pressure on the batsmen there might have been is now gone. Dharan times the pants off a straight drive for four, before a wide from Franklin is lifted over the slips for four more. A single, two dots, a no ball, and Ballich gets his first boundary with an on drive. Franklin finishes his utterly ghastly over with a wide half-tracker that Ballich spanks through point for four more.

10th over

An uneventful over from McSkimming. Three more singles, and a two up to third man.

Whatever it takes!!!
26th over

Sinclair is looking nervy out there, with Corrin getting some healthy turn. He only gets the single away off the fifth ball, and there's a dot to finish. Corrin's conceded just 19 from his first six.

27th over

Capone bowls 5/6 of a good over before Oram gleefully accepts a half-volley, cover driving for four. He's keeping NZ in the game, that brings up their 100.

28th over

Corrin continues to keep the batsmen guessing, as he leaks only two more singles.

29th over

Phlegm comes back for a quick burst. Well, medium pace, but still. Oram gets an edge down to third man for two, and there's four more singles.

30th over

Sinclair's torment is over. He aims to cut Corrin's first ball, but it's not short enough and Dharan takes a fine catch off the bottom edge, Sinclair goes for 8 off 19. McCullum gets off the mark and Oram moves to 49 while keeping the strike, but it's still just two from the over.

New Zealand 111/5
Oram 49 (59), McCullum 1 (2)

11th over

Fleming makes his first change as Gillespie comes on. It's a good start, and there's a strong appeal for caught behind against Ballich turned down. McCullum lets two byes through his legs, three from the over.

12th over

It a double change as O' Brien enters the attack. Dharan attempts another straight drive but mistimes it, and that's a simple caught and bowled for the new bowler. Dharan scored 34 (38), and NZ badly needed that. Spark gets off the mark with a single with the last ball of the over.

13th over

Three singles off another tight over from Gillespie.

14th over

O'Brien starts with a wide, but only two more singles follow. Pressure on the batsmen now.

15th over

That's out! The change bowlers are doing the work for New Zealand as Ballich (14 off 18) nicks behind. Game on! Narang opens his account with a push for one, and Spark eases the nerves with a four through cover to end the over.

16th over

Narang defends five balls from O' Brien before cutting a wide delivery through point for four.

17th over

Gillespie is proving tough to get off the square. Just a single from that over, and he has 1-10 from his four.

18th over

O' Brien, however is leaking runs and Spark threads drive through the covers to the boudary. Quality shot.

19th over

Gillepsie gets Narang, swinging it away from the right-hander and getting an edge through to the keeper. He makes it a wicket maiden to boot, as Riley doesn't want to risk it.

20th over

Oram comes on to bowl, and there's two runs from the over as Riley gets off the mark. The Kiwis are right back in it.

21st over

Riley is determined to see it through, and plays out a maiden from Gillespie.

22nd over

New Zealand have brought the field in and they're choking the runs now. Spark can only get the one single away.

23rd over

Gillespie adds another maiden to his account, he's bowled 7-3-10-2 so far. That required run rate is starting to creep up now.

24th over

Riley gets a handy pressure-relieving half volley from O' Brien that the left-hander hits firmly to the midwicket boundary. He keeps the strike with a single.

25th over

Riley gets off strike before Spark edges a short ball up to third man for two. He sees out the rest of the over.

26th over

Could that be crucial? Riley edges O' Brien into the slips, only for Fleming to drop an absolute dolly. Just the single from that over.

27th over

Yet another maiden, this time from Oram to Riley.

28th over

Spark defends the first four balls, before a single and a cut for four finally take the CWers past 100.

29th over

This is more like it from CW. Spark laces a square drive for four, and takes a single off the last ball.

30th over

Gillepsie comes back for his eighth over, and Spark is watchful before getting a boundary with a deft late cut. This stand is digging CW back out of the hole.
