I was surprised Johnson was taken out of the attack after only three overs yesterday after one bad over. It will be interesting to see how he bowls this morning.

14.5 Hilfenhaus to Prince, 3 runs, Imraan collects his first runs for the day with a square drive. he reached out to a full delivery outside off and squeezed it past backward point
14.4 Hilfenhaus to Prince, no run, curves in from a length, from the middle and off line, turned to square leg
14.3 Hilfenhaus to Prince, no run, further away from Imraan, outside off and Haddin gathers
14.2 Hilfenhaus to Prince, no run, full and just outside off stump, Imran gets across to cover his off stump and lets it go by
14.1 Hilfenhaus to Khan, 1 run, what a start from Ben. He fires in a yorker and Prince takes his front leg out of the way in a hurry and digs the ball out behind square

Hussey bowled again?

McDonald

Glad I didn't watch, though not too fussed really.
Him getting selected over and over again as some all-rounder is pretty embarrassing tbh, his bowling has been decent, but still given how poor he has been with the bat, so he is pretty much being picked for his bowling.

One can't help but think whether Brett Geeves would have been a better choice than him, couldn't have possibly done any worse with the bat than what McDonald did, and would have offered a lot more with the ball too.

Anyways, Ponting should have introduced McGain into the attack by now, the pitch really doesn't have much in it for the quicks, and considering how well Harris bowled on day 1, he should have been used as an attacking option by now, rather than bringing him into the attack as the last resort.

Really surprised that Ponting has given McGain a bowl, especially considering that Harris took 3, bowled very well (albeit that it was due to drift not turn) and that Johnson hasn't turned up as yet. House bowled well to Prince, probably the best he has bowled all series but he still has the nasty habit of bowling too short. Not sure why the Aussies are bowling this short considering the wicket is slow as anything and the bounce is tennis ball.

Danger-time for Hashim at the moment but if he can get past 60 he should be on for a big one, looks good once again. Prince, is just in one of those moods, so determined. Top session.

McDonald is a world class all rounder, how dare you rubbish him. Having played only 3 and a bit matches, we can already see that he will be better than Sobers.

Sober up dear.

It's going to be virtually impossible now for Australia to win from here unless if Johnson can break some of their bones. I'm sure he would be pitching it short every second ball, Prince and Alma must pounce on these deliveries.

Starting to get a feeling, that he was just picked due to lack of options, rather than being picked because he was in scheme of things, if this is how the best Aussie spinner is going to be treated, then there isn't much hope for the future of spin bowling in Australia.

Kallis has really shown his weakness to the short ball in this series.

Surprised it hasn't been exploited much until now.

God Ponting ****s me sometimes, maybe not bringing McGain on right now is fair enough as the quicks are roughing Kallis up a bit and he'd probably prefer to be facing McGain. However in the half hour before lunch when McDonald and Johnson were bowling roobish, can't believe he didn't get a bowl.

Ashwell Prince really is great to watch these days, and unlike Amla it hasn't come at the cost of his run-grinding ability.
