Murali looks toward 2011 WC

Nah, don't want him cheating another semi-final away from someone who never had a chance ITFP...

Great, IMO. But I do hope playing ODIs for 4 more years doesn't impact on his Test credentials. A bit similar for Shaun Pollock, too, ITBT.

Still - in both cases, they've been going on for a good 12-15 years, so hopefully another 4 won't make much difference. :)

Barring a freak injury he should make it easily. Looks like he's in the form of his life over the last 2-3 seasons so he would want to go out on a swansong--the World Cup. :)

Well he is almost 36 already. He would be 39 by the time next WC rolls around. His bowling hasn't started to suffer yet, so if he can handle the load, good for him.

His other aim is 1000 Test wickets though, and he might just get it. I think his real aim is to take more wickets than Warne (at a lesser average) from the non-minnow Test countries. If he gets 1000 Test wickets, he'll certainly have more than what Warne has from the non-minnows.

He only needs another 90 or so to get that. Should get it within 2 years, no problem.

His average is almost always going to be better than Warne's, though, can't see that not happening.

lol barring that his bowling really goes to the $hitter over the next few seasons, cant see that happening though.

Although this article mentions his body may be showing signs of wear and tear, mentions his pace through the air not as zippy as it once was due to strain of so many overs.

Good news for the game, regardless of what Fiery says. A true superstar.
