Will he get the hundredth in Melbourne or Sydney? The form from the WACA you would have to think he would be a good chance.

International Captain
The article linked to from this piece in that "related" box on the right - The Joy of Six (Oh, those hilarious cricinfo headline writers) - is a pretty good read. Gilchrist talks about copping some flak from an Aussie under-17s coach for hitting too many boundaries, as well as his favorite six (off Murali).

Can't tell whether the accompanying pic is a Rockyesque "Aaaadriaaaannnn!" or more along the lines of "I'm not an animal, I'm a human being!!!!!". Clearly a moving moment, though.

What a weapon Gilly is.
Not the player he once was but still a joy.
He did not start playing tests until late, just imagine what more he could have done if he had started earlier.

I remember Gilly's match winning hundred in Hobart against Pak in an impossible situation - Wasim Akram still gets nightmares over that one

97?!? Crazy. Although KP will probably beat it eventually, 34 for him already.
Eventually? He'll probably beat it within two years - don't forget he's only been a Test player for 18 months, and he's not even played any rubbish teams yet.

JASON

Cricketer Of The Year
Adam Gilchrist may have most 6s in Tests, but the man who has most 6's in International Cricket is Sanath Jayasuriya .

Sanath Jayasuriya 217 sixers in ODIs + 57 sixers in Tests.= 274 sixers

Shahid Afridi 217 sixers in ODIs + 50 sixers in Tests = 267
CL Cairns 153 (in ODIs) + 87 in Tests = 240
AC Gilchrist 123 (in ODIs) + 97 in Tests = 220
