This has probably been raised, but the same goes for Brett Lee. He really refused to give up after being carted in the first innings.

Lee did do amazingly well yesterday, the best tailendder innings for a while (but not as hard hitting as Harmison's 42 in South Africa)

Hence him having a lower bowling average than Flintoff.. Not to mention averaging about 20 more per innings... Averages aren't everything, but they easily disprove a lot of "theories"

Yes, and your's can be disproven by looking at his bowling from 2003 onwards...

47 wickets @ 41.12, but 11 of those came at 9.63 against Zimbabwe.
