He's pretty scathing of Streak. I think he probably has a point; it will probably be a good many years before we're party to whatever negotiations went on behind closed doors, so to the outside observer Streak's return looks like something of a cave-in.
He also takes a refreshingly pragmatic line; advising his brother Grant against joining Streak’s stand because no good would come of it. The stand drew attention to the Zimbabwe situation, but what message does the rebels’ partial return send out?
Also interesting to see that he was surprised when Zimbabwe was given test status back in 1992. He says that their domestic competition wasn't strong enough back then to sustain a team of test quality & it’s now worse. Davey Houghton also expressed similar sentiments recently in his Sky commentary stint during the recent SA v Zim test series. So that's arguably the two biggest names in Zimbabwean cricket (with the possible exception of Streak) saying their country isn't strong enough for tests.
