It's always amazed me how few matches get played at Carisbrook.
Well, I think you will find it how amazingly hard it is to fit rugby and cricket matches on a congested calendar....

Mark Perham is now doing an exceptional job at the Outer Oval. :D

not really, take the new zealand vrs aus odi game for example and one week after that they have to prepare the ground for a super 12 game.

North Harbour is not an option - too rectangular. There is a small cricket oval out the back, but no seating.

No they don't.

Rugby and Cricket clashes, as demonstrated by the Crusaders having to play at Nelson because the Test was on.

ok so without any real alternatives we are faced with having to work with the RFU season calendar..............

look to utilise those 'dual purpose' gronds not involved in the Super 12 (CD etc) or those grounds where the NZL team is on 'tour' overseas........or
utilise the specialist grounds when Super 12 / RFU season starts...........The Basin & Hamilton.............

bottom line we have to get more specialist grounds up to intnl standard.............
