The thing is if you start it too early then a lot of regular team might not enter the cup. You need to keep the thread open for atleast two weeks, before you start making fixtures. A lot of teams don't even start thinking about friendly cups until they are knocked out of the real cup.

Agreed. Either way, we need a ranking for the 38-odd teams that have joined up ASAP. What do you think Mork?

I suggest placing in previous two cups (as I already have that one worked out at home)

I disagree with batstats seeding, 'cause Tozzer has a better batstats ranking, and is still yet to defeat me in 4 attempts...

Not missing too many regulars now, only one who posts regularly but hasn't signed up is The Heath CC. Also, Raghav showed exceptional eagerness last year but hasn't signed up yet.

Still 15 friendly weeks left by my count, so probably no need to have a preliminary for another week or two. Trev makes a good point, but it doesn't seem very popular, so I guess we'll have a straight knockout preliminary starting in about four weeks' time - alternatively a group stage, depends what the lowest-seeded teams want really.

    Farce!

Not even a slight weighting towards Batstats, taking into account how teams could be misrepresented by their previous performances in the Cup?

Anyway... Anchormen going to have to pull something out of the bag here...
