Since the Sanford Twenty20, you mean?

He made his FC debut this season and has been sensational. His scores so far:

126 off 150 balls
9
69
117 off 87 balls
35 off 19 balls

He also made his List-A debut and has played 2 matches:

46* off 44 balls
87 off 58 balls

Kieron Pollard excited me back when he played Twenty20, but now he's putting substance behind the flair. He hits the ball like Ricardo Powell, but he's already accomplished more than Powell has in a career, and Pollard has only played 5 matches.

Because he's supposed to be a batsman that's why. Almost a given he'll get for under 6 every time.
Why? He's not picked as a batsman. He's picked as a bowler. And he's largely been bowling well. Why is he "supposed to be a batsman" if he's doing the job he's picked for - bowling?

Your point has just been exemplified in this current ODI atm. Opening the bowling. Still though, he plays primarily as a batsman for Barbados I think so that his primary purpose of getting selected to the West Indies. The fact that he's a decent to good bowler should be a bonus not his reason for selection. Him being a bowler is losing potentially a good batsman who can accelerate in the last few overs and maybe perform a Dhoni like role. Smith not getting into double figures for the last few months is just terrible to watch. You can count on him getting out soon after he comes in.

Nah, meant since the U/19 WC. He looked alright against us, but got Asoka DeSilva-ed. Has the keeper Perkins been going OK?

And yet he bats at 8 and 9 and bowls first or second change? How can you possibly think his batting is his primary point of selection?

You make it sound like he's monopolizing a batsman's spot. He's picked as a BOWLER. He's picked in place of a bowler, not a batsman. So he's not keeping a better batsman out of the team. If anything, he's keeping a better bowler out of the team.

Hasn't been 'keeping. Played a couple of games for T&T this season. Struggled. Looked good in the Twenty20 last year though and has been scoring well in club cricket.
