Athers was slightly better than Fleming imo. As for Harbhajan, don't really think much to separate him from Athers but I just don't like Harbhajan so put him in there.
Athers perhaps better than Fleming with the bat (both about John Wright level) as Fleming struggled so much at home, but Fleming was one of the greatest captains and slip fielders of all time. Also, was unbelievably good against Murali in SL.

Fair enough. I myself struggle with how to properly rate Kallis but I find his bowling a bit overrated sometimes. Yes he took 300 wkts but he also has the second worst WPM of all guys with 150+ wkts iirc. His record isn't that good either upon removing the weaker opponents, especially considering he bowled on some helpful home wickets. He definitely was elite in the slips though, which is why I have him ahead of guys like Akram, Gavaskar who beat him on the primary skill comfortably.

I mean we've just remarked that there aren't that many bowlers and all-rounders who've played 100 tests. I'm surprised there's anyone with 150 wickets at a lower WPM tbh – who is it?

My bad. It's actually the second worst with 100+ wickets, where the worst one is Carl Hooper.

This is the worst, most indefensible poll result I've ever seen on CW. It's unabashed bias and recentism. Brathwaite has performed better over thrice as long a period of time in worse batting conditions.

His record does stand out as removing key players and breaking partnerships, which is essentially the exact thing you want from your 5th bowler, no? iirc his 3 most dismissed players were Ponting, Gilly and Chanders.

He was a quality 5th bowler no doubt. But that is how I rank I him, he wasn't of the quality of a front line bowler.
Re, the most dismissed players, yes they are Ponting and Chanders (6 times) but partly because he's played 20+ matches against each though. Against Gilly it's 6 in 12 matches which is actually quite impressive.

not Creepy's fault that people don't wait for his career to finish and force to do a quality analysis rather than a career analysis. Under your methodology Crawley is at a default disadvantage.
