International Vice-Captain
Yashasvi by a mile.

Barry has zero test runs outside his home.

The only quick bowlers of note he faced in the only test series he played at home were Alan Connolly (who averaged 29 in his test career) and Graham McKenzie (who averaged 29 in his test career and 333 in this series). Pollock scored more runs than him in this series.

And Jaiswal has an actual test hundred in Perth.

More tested too in variety of pitches (Rababa in SA, Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood, Lyon and Boland in Australia, Ajaz and Santner in rank turners, Matt Henry and O'Rourke on a green mamba,).

That South African tour was a career ender for McKenzie. Traumatised (and may have had an STI?)

Jaiswal has the potential to surpass him (and almost everyone) someday, but that's still a few years away.

For now, and the intermediate future, Barry.

have Jaiswal and Brook outpaced the fab 4 in their career starts?
Yeah I think the impressive thing about Crowe calling the Fab Four was that they didn’t necessarily have Fab Starts. You look at these recent guys.. (I’ll use Kamindu as the starting point because he’s played the least)

Jaiswal 14 tests 26 innings 1407 @ 56.28 3 tons 8 fifties (now 5 and 10 in 20 tests)
Brook 14 tests 23 innings 1376 @ 62.54 5 tons 8 fifties (now 8 and 12 in 26 tests)
Kamindu 14 tests 24 innings 1316 @ 62.66 5 tons 5 fifties

Root 14 matches 27 innings 916 @ 38.16 2 tons 4 fifties
Kohli 14 matches 25 innings 891 @ 38.73 3 tons 5 fifties
Smith 14 matches 28 innings 825 @ 33.00 1 ton 5 fifties
Williamson 14 matches 25 innings 770 @ 32.08 2 tons 4 fifties

actually the one most on their path is Ravindra, the others are more on a Labuschagne path atm.

Ravindra 14 matches 28 innings 995 @ 38.26 2 tons 4 fifties
Labuschagne 14 matches 23 innings 1459 @ 63.43 4 tons 8 fifties
