Wicketkeepers in cricket games

I am annoyed at not been able to decide whether the wicketkeeper stands up or back i would love to be able to choose the wicket keepers position and make him b able to stand up to ne bowler. If its a quick he will let through more byes especially if going down leg side.

Thats a good point. You should be able to ask your keeper to stand up or go back to your bowler. But it might be a bit difficult to make sure that it is fair. By that I mean if you are bowling Brett Lee and have your keeper stand up, and Lee unleashes a 150k thunderbolt right at the keeper and it goes through, are players going to be happy or will they say "This game is rigged, it went straight to the keeper and he missed it. What a stupid game"

good point and i see what your saying. Personally that thought would only come from some one who doesn't play/understand cricket properly and i am not too interested in peoples comments who don't understand cricket when commenting on cricket games. I suppose their could be a warning come up on screen saying that the keeper is unlikely to catch anything stood close. Also i think it would be more interesting as you don't really see keepers dropping anything anyway and all seem to be the same ability. Is 150kph similar to 93ish mph because im english and we don't use kph.

Yes, 150kph is probably around 93mph. I just think it is a good idea, but you could only use it with bowlers who are classified as medium or medium-fast, not fast bowlers like Lee or Malinga.

My point of view, is if someone stood up to malinga his arm would take their head off, not the ball.

ye that wud be a good idea, cos it annoys me so much when th keepers r stood so far back for medium pacers

I'd like to see wicket keeping ability play a larger role in general, too. For example, in EA Sports Cricket 2KX, you can basically just throw anyone the gloves and they'll do well enough for what you need. I don't want Monty Panesar to keep as well as Mark Boucher, for example.

Have you people seen the link I posted, the drag and drop field editor (used on the keeper) seems to be exactly what you are looking for.
