Washington Sundar, spinners usually hit their peak much later on and he's already at a very good level ,and he's scored a lot of tough runs too.

Sundar's test and ODI bowling averages are exactly the same now (27.87).

His FC bowling average(27.89) is only deviating from his test average by 0.1%.

I genuinely think Sundar could end up as Jadeja, if not better, as imo he's a better spinner outside Asia with additional attributes of drift and bounce he uses well. Looks a very solid batter too, who could genuinely end up avging 40+. He just might end up as the first ever test cricketer with a batting avg > 40 and bowling avg < 30, with a long career. (No, Faulkner doesn't count as a long career, although he's a great player nonetheless)

Sundar don't look good, especially with the ball. But some how takes wickets. He is not taking wickets by bowling tripe, but still, cannot imagine how a spinner spins it less, less taller, has less variations than Ashwin can do better than him.

He drifts it as much as Ashwin, if not more.

Mulder honestly has all the tools to be an elite all rounder. Can function as a frontline bowler in the right conditions, proper batting technique, catches everything and a good cricket brain.

The difference between him and Washington for me is he has flattered to deceive. Washington has been involved in some important moments in his career already. I think he is long term a number 7 for India. I don’t think his bowling is anywhere near Ashwin and he doesn’t seem to have the ability to dictate a tempo with the bat but still, an amazing all round package.

No-one thinks he's going to bowl better than Ashwin. No reason he can't be a world class allrounder without clearing that bar, especially given he has more more upside with the bat.

He drifts it more easily
Ashwin also drifted it tbf. But yeah, Washington probably has more drift. Hopefully it helps him overseas.
Its not just that. He tries to contain and get batsmen out that way. Ashwin at least until 2018 was always trying too hard to be the game breaking bowler trying too many variations and not being consistent.
