I mean, a valid comparison isn't possible.

Sachin played 38 innings in Australia.
  • for a grand total of 6 of the 38 innings McGrath was there, IE 15%.
  • for a grand total of 9 of the 38 innings Warne was there, IE 23% and for 3 of them Warne was a debutant rookie.
  • for a grand total of 6 of the 38 innings, McWarne was there, IE 15%
  • for a grand total of 5 of the 38 innings, Jason Gillespie was there IE 13%.
for Lara, he played 35 innings in Australia.
  • for a grand total of 27 of the 35 innings, McGrath was there IE 77%.
  • for a grand total of 23 of the 35 innings, Shane Warne was there, IE 65%
  • for a grand total of 17 of the 35 innings, McWarne was there, IE 48%
  • for a grand total of 12 out of the 35 innings, Jason was there, IE 34%
That being said, this is clearly Sachin as he would've destroyed Warne and he is better on merit, Lara was way too inconsistent in Australia after his first 1993-4 series.

from my mathematics, Sachin is the 6th greatest Batsman to tour Australia.
Then your maths are wrong.

Great tour as a teen in early 90s.

Very good tour against ATG side in 99.

Middling tour in 2003 but played arguably the best technical knock and still averaged high.

Great tour in 2007.

Poor final tour.

Don't think Viv has that good a case discounting WSC, since it wasn't a Test Tour. ATG Series 79 (albeit only 4 innings, none ATG on themselves) and Great in context in 75, but that's about it.
