Curious.

One is poetry in motion. His balance, bat swing and every shot looks effortlessly elegant. A rare mix of classic technique and 360 degree innovation.

Another bats like a man possessed with his twitching, fidgeting, constantly in motion and with a technique that seems to break every rule. He shuffles across the crease, invades the off-stump, plays across the line and shapes shots in ways that seem improvised on the spot.

I mean c’mon, a 6 month layoff? You’ve been playing a sport for 20+ years you don’t forget anything (and neither does your body unconciously) over a 6 month layoff. The only thing would obviously be fitness.
You still need to go into the nets, practice, sort out techincal stuff and get into rhythm... For the more talented ones it comes naturally from the beginning

And you and Virat really reckon AB just walked into a stadium one day/night without that? Of course he didn’t.

Virat saw him in the nets and ABD must have been striking the ball much better than himself from the get go. I wouldn't be too shocked at this.

Others have told similar stories about Lara, Tendulkar and Abd himself. Dravid often tells one about Tendulkar that multiple times Tendulkar would just go out in the middle, see something the bowler was trying to do and decide he was going to play a totally different way today (whatever Tendulkar thought was the best way). Dravid, although an ATG himself, would need to practice it for months, to implement such a change in a game, but Tendulkar had the ability to decide it in game and make it work
