Above table has all the inductees, sorted by career span. Anyway, the next one up in a couple of years that's a shoe in for this should be Dale Steyn, so look forward to that.

However, it's an absolute joke that Matthew Hayden isn't already inducted here. Considering first that I highly doubt the selection committee is doing the stereotypical CW style checklist analysis or whatever, it becomes even more absurd. How much better of an average would an opener have to have to be selected? Is Desmond Haynes really going to be the last ever opener on this list?

They did a bunch of older players first in 2009, and then a couple in 2010-11. I think it's much less likely that a player will get selected from the earlier eras of cricket now, for better or for worse.

Jayawardene’s name is there .
But none of Smith, Sehwag and Hayden are in the hall of fame ?

That is equally eww.

Why not Mumbai, Karachi, Delhi or one of the many hotbeds of actual grassroots cricket somewhere in the subcontinent?

Because if you’re having a hall of fame for a specific sport, it should probably go in the country where cricket actually originated, no?

Nah, **** that ****. The game has expanded far beyond its roots. There's already a musuem at Lords and the MCC is still there. That's not going anywhere. May as well put the ICC Cricket hall of Fame, in a different place, to emphasize the INTERNATIONAL nature of the game now.

Put it in Australia then. India’s already a popular tourist destination.
