Kallis struggled v McGrath; think he was good v Warne. Just didn't take him apart like the more stylish destroyers of spin did.
I think what I read Kallis wasn't particularly adept to Warne as well. Warne did Great vs Pakistan and SL, who had many great players of spin.

I've read differently.

Warne was amazing, I'm just saying I don't think it was just Tendulkar and Lara who got the better of him.

I never saw Kallis particularly struggle against Warne. Yes he got out to him occasionally. Against Murali yes he did struggle.

Padding away rule changed in 1972.

It was very easy to not get LBW against spinners back then.

So how do we trust older players to survive against Murali and Warne when they can't pad away no more?

In fact if Murali and Warne had DRS, all hell would have broken loose. You can't even do bat & pad together anymore.
As you said it was difficult to get lbw vs spinners is one of main reason bedi/ prasanna /chandra didnt get as many wickets they should have otherwise they are closer to warne and Murali then many think

Fine but I am saying that the assumption that Richards/Sobers will blast him off/find him easier than say McGrath is purely baseless and pulled out of arse
Come on hand over heart you really see Viv/Sobers finding Warne more difficult to play than McGrath over a series? Especially in Aus?
