Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Assuming each country has a Mount Rushmore of cricketers of most importance to their game, not necessarily the best, who makes it for them?

Australia:-
Don Bradman, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Victor Trumper (Dennis Lillee could be there)
England:-
WG Grace, Jack Hobbs, Sydney Barnes, Len Hutton
West Indies:-
Garry Sobers, Malcolm Marshall, Viv Richards, Clive Lloyd (I don't know how to get Frank Worrell in)
India:-
Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (Kohli might be close, Bumrah should probably be there already)
South Africa:-
Jacques Kallis, Basil D'Oliviera, Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith
Pakistan:-
Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Fazal Mahmood, Waqar Younis
New Zealand:-
Richard Hadlee, Martin Crowe, Kane Williamson, Stephen Fleming

Yeah I disagree with all of these I think.

Anyways you forgot SL.

It would be for me:

Ranatunga, Murali, DeSilva, Sanga

Australia would have Lillee instead of McGrath and Benaud too instead of Trumper

WI, Worrell instead of Lloyd and Lara maybe instead of Marshall.

India would be Kohli instead of Pataudi.

SA needs to have Pollock I think. He was voted their best cricketer last century.

Pakistan needs Miandad.

NZ seems fine but I think you can have better options than Fleming.

My first thought was Vettori but idk. Considering all formats you could argue McCullum maybe?

Yeah I disagree with all of these I think.
For Australia, Lillee is simply the definitional cricketer of the era in a way McGrath was not. Benaud was the Voice of Cricket but on second thought I would have Border who revived Aussie cricket, their most consequential captain.

Kohli has defined this era with the bat and captaincy.

SA would cherish Pollock more than a couple you mentioned.

Miandad was not just the best Pak bat but fundamental to their most successful era.

Fleming is fine for me but I don't think he has as much gravitas for NZers.

I do not think he should be in the list.

As great as he was, barely any impact or difference to England in all but one Ashes.

My understanding was that the Mount Rushmore presidents were chosen respectively to represent birth (as an independent nation), growth, development and preservation.

The first chronological name for each cricketing nation would have to be someone from the early days, such as Nayudu for India, or perhaps Mankad from the period immediately following political independence. It wouldn't be Ranji as he was too closely associated with the British.

Grace might represent growth for English cricket but not birth. It was established long before he appeared.

Learie Constantine might be a candidate for first name on the West Indian list.
