Which Country’s Batsmen Struggle the Most in their Own Backyard?

Until the West Indies became absolutely awful (and not including Bang/Zim) its pretty consistently been SA and NZ.

Over the past 10 years Bangladesh has actually surpassed the West Indies, and New Zealand is the best place for a home batsman (besides Australia).

I think it has been South Africa historically (especially in the 90s & 2000s); now it's probably England.

I think it is us.

If the opposition has good swing bowlers we tend to struggle. Wasim, Waqar, Imran, Hadlee had it all over us. (Add: Asif, Boult, Southee and Starc)
If the opposition has good spinners we tend to struggle. Warne, Ashwin and Jadeja did well. Vettori was not the best but he did well too.

Pretenders will get punished and leave bleeding runs.

Yeah Sri Lanka a good shout too. Very rocks and diamonds at home, even if those diamonds do have an excellent cut.

No. You have forgotten those monster hundreds from Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Jayasuriya and Dilshan?

I'd say it's the South African team under Graeme Smith, they were able to get runs in England, India and Australia but struggled in their own backyard if the opposition had a decent seam attack.

That's why Kallis was so good. He was ridiculously good at being the one to give his bowlers a decent score to compete with in those difficult home conditions.
