Asif was as accurate and consistent as Philander

At worst Asif was of similar quality to like Pollock. I think he was better tbh although Pollock obviously had the better career.

Philanders own teammates ABD and Amla rated him the best pacer they faced. So did KP. Ponting listed him among his top bowlers too.

Dude I don't know why it's so difficult to understand. There are more skilled worldclass cricketers who get rated behind others based on career length. That doesn't make the latter more skilled.

I don't think skill level wise Asif was onto Philander, let alone ahead of him or comparable to Pollock. Don't know why it's tough to acknowledge that. Asif is Akhtar without anything noteworthy to show for and Qadir who was lucky to have his career short.
