What would be your XI to beat this SC XI?

I don't see Hayden struggling with Ashwin unless it's a bunsen. Khawaja is not a step up either.

If we're looking at lefties, maybe Andy Flower or a darkhorse like Stephen Fleming, or Alistair Cook
Flower over Gilly? Not sure. Gilly to me was capable of matchchanging innings against top spin.

Scenario is a 5 test match series in SC with two classic spinning wickets, one unprepared lottery pitch and two batting low bounce pancake wickets.

Is there an XI outside that can beat this team (no Bradman allowed)?

Sehwag
Gavsaskar
Younis Khan
Sachin
Miandad
Sanga (keeper)
Imran (captain)
Ashwin
Wasim
Waqar/Bumrah
Murali
There may be a side that can beat this side in SC since the GOAT in SC is missing from your side. Beat your ego to add him and it gets unbeatable.

He might be the GOAT in Indian conditions though. It's either him or Ashwin
Murali is already an offie, and Imran at 7 is a bit iffy with Ash at 8

Gilly doesn't have the average but when he impacted it made a difference. His tons in 2001 and 2004 in India and SL we're all at critical times.
Also won a game in Bangladesh (I know, I know) off his own bat. Aus were 6-93 after BD made 427 in the first innings. They had no right winning that game but Gilly made 144 on a big spinning wicket out of a total of 269

Probably the 2nd most match-winning century of his career after the 149* at Hobart but no one remembers it because it was only Bangladesh

How in the world did that happen lmao? An ocean separated Aussie 00s and Bangladesh 00s, and I'm not talking about the Indian Ocean.

That Aussie side had always had a massive weakness against spin bowling in Asia, outside of the year 2004. All it took was a half-decent left-arm spinner in Mohammad Rafique with some helpful conditions and they fell in a pile (see also Sri Lanka 1999, India 2001)

Then the next game pitch was flatter and it was more what you'd expect. They won by an innings and only lost 4 wickets for the game
