What are the best series bowling and batting performances in the last 20 years

Really? Anderson's absence and Ashwin's home dominance make it close for me
Yes. Considering his dominance over both his teammates and opponents, Broad had a good series with the ball and Archer had a great one. Smith was so clearly dominant over any other batsman on either side though, unlike in the India series. Plus there was (admittedly a minor factor imo) but the whole coming back to tests and just being as ridiculous as always. Oh and yeah series result does matter and Smith smashed this for us.

The context around Smith’s Ashes in addition to the sheer dominance he displayed over everyone else on bowler friendly surfaces will always make it one of the greatest batting performances in a series in history let alone the last twenty years

Not necessarily the best but Saeed Ajmal's bowling in the UAE against England was both comedy and gold, considering how English commies never rated Pak before the series.

What was remarkable about that 2019 series was that he had one failure in 7 innings. It was a remarkable run.

I thought Ajmal did well in England in 2010 but that England side was so full of themselves they were shocked Ajmal tore them over in the UAE.

Both in 2005 and 2012, Pakistan took down England sides that were supposed to be the next big thing.

Hehe yeah both series are two of my favorites ever given the English team were sititng on the high horse after winning vs 05 Australia and destroying 11 India they got completely smashed in both encounter.

Steve Smith shares one similarity with Sehwag - see the ball, hit the ball approach.

His ability to look for run scoring opportunities is unparalleled with anyone.

Ross Taylor vs West Indies 2013/14

1st test: 217* and DNB
2nd test: 129 and DNB
3rd test: 131 and 2*

Prior to that series NZ hadn't won a test series against anyone other than Zimbabwe and Bangladesh for many years. Rain (and a fighting 200 from Darren Bravo) just managed to save the WI in the 1st test, but NZ won 2 & 3 for a 2-0 win. Taylor was immense.

Herath vs Aus in SL
came here to advance this one but burgey's got there first

mind you that australia team was pretty bad against spin much as how the team johnson feasted on in 2013-14 had a bit of inherent meekness to raw pace; what was so amazing about rangana that series though was just the way he was absolutely beclowning blokes

I think batting wise Smith in England ‘19, India ‘17 and Kohli in SA ‘17/18 is the best I’ve seen in that order.

Root probably has some great ones I can’t recall atm as well.
