Sound like a bloody armchair cricketer if there ever was one. I remember playing for my boarding school team back in the 80's and was pretty proud of my batting average and did not think much of genuine pace when this new chap comes up from nowhere and starts bowling 140-150kmph, everybody ran up to the sport shop to purchase helmets. Never did see the ball pass my bat. Took the rest of the summer to get my confidence back up to play anything but a defensive stroke.

No offense but how is that relevant?

I thought that just because I had seen the west indians on TV, I would be able to play genuine pace if I came across it. Its another thing seeing something on TV and thinking that you can do it and actually facing someone who bowls at +140kmph.

hmm...so going by Mr. Mazumbar theory there should be alteast half-a-billion people in India with technical skills equal to Sachin considering that majority of the Indian public hold him as their favourite player.
