Was 2016 South Africa tour at home the biggest loss for Australia in recent years?

Starc really is either not the sharpest tool in the shed or is being captained horribly right now. He's most effective over the wicket bowling line and length with the occasional short ball to push the batsman back and the occasional Yorker to breach the defenses of a batsman struggling with his pace.

I'd love to know how many wickets he's actually taken from around the wicket. It's such a low percentage angle for him against the right hander unless the ball is moving. And when the ball is moving he's far more deadly from over the wicket because it helps his Yorker so much.
Yeah, Paine might have switched him to around the wicket because the new ball seemed to stop moving after only about 5 overs, or maybe it was part of some game plan worked out in the dressing rooms. Was daft captaincy either way.

He was trying to hit the crack that Cummins hit with his first ball to ChePu. Green even came on before him because Paine wanted Starc to have a go at the crack from that end after Cummins's spell.

Any Queensland cricket fan who doesn't rate those two is practically commiting an act of treason.

That being said I would genuinely have Bic, Kasper and a couple others of the era over Neser and Bird

Bichel is massively overrated around here, no way was he on the level of Starc and Pattinson. Kasper probably wasn't too, but no-one seems to rate him as much.
Bichel and Kasper were both better than Lee but not as good as Starc and Pattinson. They kinda belong at tier 2.5, or maybe they belong at tier 3 and Lee at tier 4. Fleming was pretty much on the same level as them. Reiffel closer to the Starc tier and was probably the most competent of the third quicks in the era.
